Tucson was First in the US – UNESCO Cities of Gastronomy

On 15 December 2015, Tucson, Arizona, became the first UNESCO City of Gastronomy designated in the United States, joining the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN). The UCCN is an association that recognizes urban areas around the world for how they use cultural heritage and creativity as factors for sustainable development. The association supports designated cities in becoming hubs of creativity and cultural production.

Regional food festivals, street vendors, craft brew festivals, and national ranked chefs are located in the Tucson metropolitan area.
